WELCOME ON The MAGIC MINIS' WEBSITE !

The Mistral (born 2007)

Hi ! My name is Marion Aarzen. I come from Netherlands, and now I breed mini Shetland ponies, thoroughbred Arabian horses and Welsh ponies in a small village situated in the northeast of France, called Han sur Meuse. This village is not far from Saint-Mihiel, Verdun and Commercy.

My village is a quiet one. 150 inhabitants, in a loop of the Meuse verdant valley, 5 km south of Saint-Mihiel. Calm and peace... Nowadays, because this area was the theater of bloody battles in World War I. The "Bois d'Ailly", and the "Tranchée de la Soif", on a slope just above Han, are well-known historic sites. The village of Han itself was totally distroyed during the war, and rebuilt a few years after.

These times are long gone for our funny Shetland minis, which appreciate the surroundings and the good green grass of our pastures, richer than those of their native land, the Shetland islands. There, in this windswept archipelago 150 km north of Scotland, grass is scarcer and climatic conditions sometimes very harsh. I think they appreciate to be here with us, and that they enjoy the milder climate of France !

All the Shetland Magic Mini foals we have are born here, and socialize a lot. They are everyday in contact with human beings and myself, or other horses or animals. So they are all very sociable. I love them; for me breeding horses is very much a heart affair and a passion. Nevertheless I have to make a living from it also, and must one day let them go. But I am sure that they will soon be much loved by their new owners and friends, they are so friendly and cute !

All our animals are vaccinated against most dangerous diseases (rabies, tetanus, flu...) and vermifugated regularly. They are presented by myself in regional or national shows on a regular basis. In our farm I also have thoroughbred arabian horses, saddle horses.

Nearly everyday we are visited by a vet who is also a personal friend, Mme B. Descy-Noppe from Saint-Mihiel (her horses live here). I have also a medical course in homeopathy and phytotherapy for horses.

Our installations are in traditional farm buildings, we have large and clean boxes, a sheltered riding school for everyday exercises, and vast pastures with electric fences in the Meuse valley.
